INTERNING AT AUDUBON

National Audubon Society is the largest conservation group in Florida, but they're well-known nationwide with over 450 chapters across the nation. I worked closely with the communications director and assisted the Audubon FL team with projects. Since I was interning at the Capitol, we were responsible for legislative advocacy which was very rewarding. Continue scrolling to view the several components of the organization I had part in and the ample amount of content I created.

CREATING A NEWSLETTER

I think storytelling is a good way to inform your audience. The intro. should capture their attention and provide them the want-to to keep on reading. Here's a sample of the staff newsletters that I was responsible to draft and release.

MANAGED PUBLICATIONS

Audubon Florida proudly produces publications containing the data their staff, scientists, and volunteers collect. I managed the Scrub Jay Watch Report, State of the Everglades Report, and two editions of Audubon's magazine, the Naturalist. I was responsible for uploading the publications, as well as being involved in the process of editing. I also managed the web-ready versions of the publications and can be found on Audubon Florida's website.

CONTENT EDITING

I love editing content and so interning at Audubon Florida honed my editing skills. I edited publications from magazines, news stories, website content to letters addressed to elected officials.

SOCIAL MEDIA

As the intern, I was in charge of the social media platforms @Audubon_FL: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Click on the button to view the 2019 social media report, captions and URL's for social posts, and the caption planning for Facebook and Instagram.

WEBSITE MANAGEMENT

As the intern, I was responsible for uploading, editing, formatting, and managing content and photos on our website. Click on the button to view Audubon Florida News and view the content I am proud to have managed.

PRESS RELEASES

Interacting with the press and completing the process of sending out a press release from start to finish is rewarding. Here are a few samples of the press releases I created in the duration of my internship.

EDITING PUBLICATIONS

Editing content is a skill I never want to stop practicing. As the intern, I wanted to edit as many documents before they were published.
